Digital Cameras : Samsung NV10

As most reviewers concur there is something very special with this camera, I own several and none have the same "wow" factor (anyone who sees it wants to hold it).

The "smart touch" buttons that change function to allways give you inmediate access to what is needed in every situation in plain genius, a big leap in user interface for digicams.

Picture quality is very good, BUT you do need a steady hand (or tripod) to avoid getting a blurry pic once in a while due to the lack of any mechanical stabilization and forget low-light shots w/o flash since high iso is very grainy and noisy (again a mini-tripod will save the day).
The flash works fine though, even if red-eye is a bit more prominent than with similar cams.

For me it's a bit like the Ipod, even though there are better alternatives I find myself using it just cause I love the design and the way it "feels".

There are better and cheaper cameras out there, but if you get this one you will probably end up loving it, I did.... Hide Full Review

It's a fun small camera with an amazing interface. One really must play with it to see how easy the touch sensitive buttons make using this camera. The size is small but still a bit to big for pockets. It offers manual controls! I took several pictures that look top notch and I took some pretty bad ones. It seems to struggle a bit with low light, but don't they all. The anti shake is pointless because it just seems to do nothing. I had severally used different types of digital compact cameras recently. I used SONY DSC-T10, T7, RI and now Samsung NV10.
Definitely NV10 is great. Even though nv10 is small digital, this is in some ways better than DSC-R1(hi-end level of large diameter(67mm) digital camera). To say nothing of small kinds of Sony digital cameras, Canon, Olympus, this is top..
Compared with R1, nv10 is much better in focusing and vivid sanguinity in pictures... and some easy way of taking pictures nv10 supplies better quality of pic than R1. Though, in heavy quality of pics, R1 is severally better than Nv10, but in simple pics(light mega pics) Nv10 has superiority in FOCUSING, VIVIDITY, COMFORTABILITY, AND PRICE.... Hide Full Review

I love the camera, being an art student this camera is perfect for photos! it has all the white balance settings, iso, exposure, even adjust the shutter speed! i find it weird that you can adjust the shutter speed but not the exposure at the same time. but thats very minor to every ting else. but this camera has been every thing i'vew need with a great interface which is way better when you figure it all out. it good for photographers, and just some one that wants a camera. if there was anything i had to say about it is that the battery that it comes with doesn't last very long, if you continuously use it over the period of about 3 hours(turning it off and on between uses) more than likely is gonna be very low. but i'm sure buying a battery fixes that. but with all it comes with who needs a cannon?

The NV10 is a "nice" camera. I bought it as a birthday gift and she loves it, but together we've discovered a few annoyances.

While shooting video, if you zoom, the audio recording stops until you are through zooming. Battery life is ok, but not great. Make sure you buy a spare. Overall image quality is softer than my Casio, but the additional features make this camera easier to use in a hurry. Shutter lag is significant and will cause lost action shots. Controls are easy to reach and the thumb wheel makes switching between modes much simpler than menu driven cameras.

For the price ($199 at Circuit City), I'd do it again. Just be aware of the few quirks and you'll be fine. Hide Full Review
