I bought one of these about 3 weeks ago and it is very easy to use, you can store a lot of pictures on just one SD card, and there is also a movie mode but I have had trouble transferring the movies to my computer, but I think I can fix that. Overall great camera. Hide Full Review

Very good camera, easy to use and takes crystal clear pictures. Replaces my bulky, battery draining Kodak DX4530. The salesperson at Best Buy told me that she owned an SD1000 herself and loved it. I took her word and went on a family vacation the next day to Florida for a week. It took great pictures and awesome video as well and the battery never went dead. Good price and great value. Takes a little practice to get used to the internal options and menus but what digital camera doesn't.

I bought this camera for my wife. She wasn't sure she could give up her SLR for a digital camera. Was she surprised. She can take over 600 shots on a 1GB card. I have always bought a Sony Digital Camera. I got ride of my last Sony because It was only 7.2 MP. I went to a Kodak 12 MP camera just because I wanted more MP. It was not a very good camera. The quality of the pictures was the worst I ever had. I did alot of research and finally decided to buy the SD870 IS. I am not dis-appointed. I will keep this one for awhile. I bought this camera about two weeks ago via Dell (who was selling it for $211, and it arrived in time for the beginning of summer photos. The camera is really easy to use and takes great pictures. It is easy to load the pictures to a computer too because you just plug in a cord and press the load button. However, it is kind of weird because the camera has to be on, yet the screen goes dark when you press the load button. It comes with software that you have to install. I tried to load this onto a school computer and the icon wouldn't be recognized on the desktop of an eMac. In addition, I can't make the videos played on Windows Media Player (its default setting) nor will it go on Quicktime (which says it's not a movie) or iTunes. I'm kind of troubled, but the playback on the camera itself is magnificent. It captures great sound, even though I can't tell where the speakers are. You can also edit on the camera by cutting video beginning and end and adjusting color. I highly recommend this camera... as long as I eventually find out how to work these settings. Hide Full Review
