Car Tech : Alpine DVA-9861

I had been using Alpine HU and other Alpine products since my 1st car back in 1996.I had just upgraded from 9855 to 9861 because it came with optical output to my PXA-H701 which improved SQ a few folds.It's just as capable as 9855 in terms of ipod connection but the Radio reception was so much better than the MX tune found in 9855.The only thing I don't like about it is the features which is hidden in some areas which is hard to find unless you go through the whole manual but still there's 1 thing which I never find in the manual which is the Multi or Quad colour changing procedure.I would definitely recommend the 9861 to those Alpine fans. I own a Honda City Gxi and have a pair of jbl p953 professional speakers and sony 250 watt amp

earlier i had a pioneer two din unit earlier which i thought was pretty good looking

alpine looks pretty basic but it has amazing features one of which is ipod connectivity

i have been using it for about 6 months now and i am really satisfied with it

the only downside i can suggest is its price tag

here in India, it costs Rs.50000 ( approx 1200 $ ).

Bottom line is if I were to go for the one of better products in the market today, I would certainly consider Alpine at the top of my list.
