Laptops : Apple iBook G4 1.42Ghz with Superdrive

You would be hard pressed to find another laptop with the processing power that this one has. Every feature installed on this machine is top-notch. I am a lifelong PC user and it didn't take alot of time to figure out the sublte differences between Windows and Mac OS X. If you have ever used xWindows for linux this will looks semi-familiar also. Many of the contro;s and menus are based off of this design (or vice a versa). The best thing I can say about this laptop is it works...plain and simple. Purchasing office for MAC would be a wise investment the text editor does leave something to desired, but otherwise a good value and a promise for more than six months of reliablity. The iBook G4 is wonderful, especially when it's not your only computer. The size makes it easy to place in a tank bag for motorcycle rides. This computer also fits easily on those tiny airline menu trays where larger models simply can cut it. I'm glad I purchased mine when I did as Apple doesn't offer a 2007 version. Hide Full Review

If your looking to get away from the endless problems inherent in windows, heres your answer. this little guy is an amazing product with something for everyone. I love this computer, it is easy to store, and carry. Small enough to fit on college desks, but plenty big enough so you can see the screen. The picture on the screen is clear, and the sound quality (like for iTunes) is amazing. It has several USB ports so you can have it hooked to diferent things at the same time. You also have the option of using dialup with it, instead of it's includend WI-FI feature. There are many other wonderful features, and I could go on and on...All I can say is it is a very good computer and a deal for it's price. It even stands up to some beating...I've dropped it a couple times and banged it against things and there have been no adverse effects. :) Hide Full Review

Okay, so several months ago. I purchased one of these, and within less than three weeks of having it, it started having serious issues. I would attempt to load a CD into the Super Drive, and it would not accept it, nor any other discs for that matter! I took the computer into the local Apple Store, where they were happy to replace the defective drive, but the one that they used to replace the bad one was defective as well! Less than an hour after leaving the store, I tried to put a disc into the drive, and nothing! I called Apple's Tech support Line,and they told me to do what had already been done! I took the computer into a third party shop, that is licensed to repair Apple's products and the guy that looked at it told me that the Tech at the Apple store had put the original drive back into my machine! I Immediatley went to the store, and told their manager, He said there is no proof of the device's drive being the factory original, so I told them they will be hearing from my lawyer.
