I spent a long time deciding to purchase a mac. The weight of the decision came from becoming accustomed to the mac OSX from using them at my school, Virginia Tech so regularly. The price tag didn't even deter me from my resolve (almost 3,000) full loaded. There is plenty good with this laptop. The speed is incredible. 2 gigabytes ram is amazing coupled with the insanely fast 2.16 ghz duo core that mine has. The ability to run both osx and windows draws you in even more to it's allure. The customer service I experienced was a bit different. The outlet adaptor to charge the battery internal wiring frays very easily (2 months in from light to moderate use). This caused a short which nearly fried my computer and made the cord defunct. I'm not sure if this is due to an unannounced defect as I was told by customer service this "happens a lot on this model" or if it's just poor manufacturing. Where as it is covered by warranty, their replacement plan leaves a lot to the imagination. If you're lucky to find a store willing to replace it for you with no upfront cost to you within 250 miles, they still have to order it from apple. If you order the replacement from apple directly, they require you to upfront the cost or mail the other one to them first. Either way, you're stuck with a lot of downtime of not having a viable way to charger your battery. Picking up a replacement at bestbuy or circuit city is non reimburseable from what I was lead to believe. All in all I still LOVE my laptop, however the price, interesting customer service experience, and cord replacement issues might deter the less mac-oriented buyer. Hide Full Review
