Picture this: you buy the Apple Macbook, get home, press the power button, follow the setup instructions, and within half an hour, you are ready to go. And I mean GO! You can now load photos, music, movies, use the Internet, create your own Web page, create comics, take pictures with your in-built camera, edit those movies you just loaded, create movies of your own, mix and create songs, view and burn DVDs, with no additional setup required.
Of course setup speed isn't everything. But the 2 Ghz Intel Core2Duo processor and 1GB RAM ensure that speed is maintained in actual performance as well(anf if you want to future-proof your machine, the MacBook has the option of taking on an additional 1GB of RAM).
The applications are fantastic: iMovieHD, ComicLife, PhotoBooth, iTunes, iPhoto, iCal, iWeb just to name a few. And the Tiger operating system is every bit as good,if not better, than Windows Vista(Windows XP is not even in the same class) in looks and functionality. Dashboard, Exposé, Apple FrontRow: the user-interface is top-class.
Oh, and if you feel you still want to use Windows, you run it alongside the Mac OS X on this computer(either via BootCamp or Parallels desktop). And in my experience, the MacBook handles Windows pretty effectively, too. I have had no problems with playing games using 3D graphics on the Windows partition.
The bottom line: good looks, great performance, and easy-to-use and lug around!
