Laptops : Apple MacBook

Really enjoying this Laptop. I've read all of the articles(pros and cons), did the research and decided, for the money, this was the one. Some of the cons were heat, keayboard and sound from the fan. I don't know if I recieved a newer build, but none of these things are an issue with this machine. I currently also use an IBM Thinkpad and will probably end up making this m primary laptop. Ease of use and feature rich, this little dynamo has everything a person could want. It's fast, Quiet, intuitive, light, has a great screen, good battery life and is comfortable to use! I've always been a Windows user, but i wanted a MacBook for it's media capabilities. It took me a little while to get used to the Macintosh interface, but once you do, it's very simple. The graphics are way better than Windows, and the operating system is far more advanced, yet simpler to use. I've had mine for a little over a month, and the only error messages i've recieved have been from Microsoft programs. The word processor in the MacBook isn't the best though, but I've purchused Microsoft Office for Mac, and I've been pleased so far, but you will need to get used to it, since it is different from the Window's version. Picture this: you buy the Apple Macbook, get home, press the power button, follow the setup instructions, and within half an hour, you are ready to go. And I mean GO! You can now load photos, music, movies, use the Internet, create your own Web page, create comics, take pictures with your in-built camera, edit those movies you just loaded, create movies of your own, mix and create songs, view and burn DVDs, with no additional setup required.

Of course setup speed isn't everything. But the 2 Ghz Intel Core2Duo processor and 1GB RAM ensure that speed is maintained in actual performance as well(anf if you want to future-proof your machine, the MacBook has the option of taking on an additional 1GB of RAM).

The applications are fantastic: iMovieHD, ComicLife, PhotoBooth, iTunes, iPhoto, iCal, iWeb just to name a few. And the Tiger operating system is every bit as good,if not better, than Windows Vista(Windows XP is not even in the same class) in looks and functionality. Dashboard, Exposé, Apple FrontRow: the user-interface is top-class.

Oh, and if you feel you still want to use Windows, you run it alongside the Mac OS X on this computer(either via BootCamp or Parallels desktop). And in my experience, the MacBook handles Windows pretty effectively, too. I have had no problems with playing games using 3D graphics on the Windows partition.

I bought this computer after having so many problems with an HP Pavillion dv9000 (so dont buy it!) At first I was a little skeptic since I've heard many great things(for ex. the commercials..lol) and im not going to lie, when i fisr saw it, i was a dissapointed since it was really small. But once I turned on the power button, I was amazed at the graphics. This computer is awsome. I really love the simpleness to carry it around. This is literally the size of a notebook. I dont regret buying it, but the price could of been lower. Hide Full Review
