First thing, if you are considering purchasing this item from the Creative website, dont. It took them a week to process the order even before it was shipped out, the amount of time was certainly not industry standard (which was what their customer service said).
My Extigy arrived with all the required items, except for a connecting cable to the speakers. I have the DTT 3500 by Cambridge soundworks which is supposed to be a match to the Extigy. Unfortunately the digital out on the extigy is 1/8 minijack and the DTT 3500s digital in is either DIN or RCA. How stupid is that? I didn;t even consider the optical ouput because on the Extigy, 5.1 sound doesnt work with the optical output.
After connecting everything and loading up the software, the following happened: the softawre loaded up about 10 Desktop icons and the speakers started to put out this clicking sound, nothing else, but this continual click, click, click..... Ive read about this problem from other users so I decided to reload the software, click, click, click.....
Of course I called the Creative labs technical support (which is the biggest joke of them all). They only operate the technical support during 9-6 on weekdays and thats it! No after hours or weekends. So in order to get help, I have to be at home instead of at work to get any help, yeah right, like Im really going to do that.
So instead, I tried e-mailing the technical support, which the website suggests. 10 days later, I still have not received an answer.
So I decide to return the product, which when I called Customer service, was told that I have to send to StillWater OK, which is fine. The Customer Support also told me once the product is received by them, the refund will happen in 24 hrs. Wow, I thought, they are pretty good about this.
Now it comes time to actually receive the refund, I call Creative after making sure that UPS actually delivered the package to them. They tell me, the refund will probably in ten or more days and that will happen if their server comes back up! They say its been down for 6 days and they arent processing any refunds. Im thinking that I bet their processing incoming orders.
So dont do business with them. Im sorry to say, I will never do business with them ever again.
