After failing with Linksys I turned to this product which I picked up at Costco - They actually have a help desk for Costco consumers! The setup was somwhat painless - two calls for assistance versus 5 & failure with linksys. Got this Costco purchased router working out of the box in an hour. This DLink upgrades a SMC brand G wireless router that worked well. SMC router is several years old and often would disconnect on wireless. New DLINK remedies this, get maximum connection "G" speed now, and less or no neighbor interference disconnects. Wireless notebook is still "G" and will wait for full "N" release before upgrading notebook network card. Router works well with 3 other hardwired PCs at giga speed and an all in one network printer, HP L7650. My mistake was to get it working then did a firmware router update and needed to so setup again. Hide Full Review

I all, the Pre-N MIMO 2.4Ghz Wireless AP/Routers in general are great! However, as a technician, I am very upset they still do not give the data on the RF power output/performance, as well as the specs on the antenna gain and polarization. The secret to a reliable and fast WLAN, IS THE ANTENNA SYSTEM...STUPID!!! When are they EVER going to learn??? Microwave is VERY tricky, and you MUST know absolutely what you are doing! I baught this product to connect to protocol g and N computers. The setup was OK until I was asked which Internet program I was using, by the setup program. It thinks there are a hanful in existance and doesn't list any others. So I tried multiple setting with several of the listed providers and none could allow me to connect. Then after calling a call centre (based abroad) I was connected to a very unhelpful tech support guy. His suggestions didn't help either. It costs a lot but can't even connect. Hide Full Review
