Monitors : Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW

We just got four of these bad boys at work and all I can say is WOW! I'm an engineer and we use SolidWorks and AutoCAD and they both jump off of the screen, visually speaking. Whenever somebody walks past your desk they always stop and stare for a few moments. This monitor is all it claims to be and more. We upgraded from sony 21" CRT's and there is no comparision. We're running nvidia quadro fx 3450's video cards and use the dvi "pure digital" interface rather than a standard monitor cable. It's a rather pricey monitor, but I haven't seen much that compares with it. Hide Full Review

I was reluctant to buy the Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW Monitor at first, but besides being one of my favorite toys in the house, it's a beautiful screen with enough room for multitasking and plenty big for games.

Be sure to have a powerful enough graphics card to take full advantage of this puppy.

On a negative side, being an animator and having to do a lot of color correction work, I do find that ambient light in the room can sometimes distort my perception of the colors on the screen.

But by working in a darkish room, there are no issues what so ever.

Certainly one of the better monitors out there, not exactly the most stylish looking, but the sheer size is impressive alone. Hide Full Review

This monitor is great for the price. It is a close match to the Apple 23 inch cinema display. It doesn't have the sleek look of the Apple display, but where it lacks in looks it makes up in bells and whistles. Basically it has hookups for DVI, RGB, Component, Composite cabling, USB ports (3), and a Media card reader all in the monitor. Also the monitor can be rotated 90 degrees incase you are lazy and can't us the scroll bar.
For the price it is a great buy, 500 less than the apple monitor. Hide Full Review
