Laptops : HP Pavilion ZT3010US

This Laptop is very nice and has a descent battery life. A little slow on the boot... but it works otherwise very well... cudows to HP-CompaQ..... I use to stay as far away as I could from compaq but now I like the HP Units and chose this over all others.... The screen is incredible I ordered it, custom buit from Costco but HP direct was the same price... I have the 64MB video with the 1920*1200 screen I would recomend getting the screen with the 1600*1024 instead though.... Unless you have better than 20/20 vision.... I wish it had an optical out though, like gateway and I wish it had a multiread/write dvdrw/dcrw it only writes plus media.... Until they change that I would opt for the external writer from TDK..... Also they did not include in writing media.... That should have been included for the extra $200.oo I also got the bluetooth with the internal 54g which works great.... it comes with a sd reader.... you have the option for a modular 6in 1 reader for other media but I did not need it since I bought the sandisk 8/1 reader that works great... The touchpad has 2 cool features... a slider on the right side that is part of the pad and the other most useful feature when typing alot is the fact you can just click it off with a button at the top of the pad.... Over all I would give this laptop a 4/5 with a couple of drawbacks.... but dont let those keep you from getting the laptop.... I will say though that if you need support for anything that HP/ COMPAQ report is lacking.... So you better know your stuff or have a computer person sitting around..... Because if you need help they are lacking.... I know this from my compaq laptop I tried 2 months ago and took it back..... But other than that it is a great machine
Also the volume control for the sound is up at the top right with a mute button and you can turn that off instantly if you want it quite.... For what you get the machine is worth it and the weight is not bad at 6lbs 12oz.. Lets say 7 lbs with the power adapter.... Oh and if you get it dont forget to buy the HP Sport backpack..... Ordered from the hpshopping site, arrived in 10 days totally custom. Have had no problems with the wireless, works great. Ordered the computer with 1.5 ghz, 5400 rpm 60g hard drive, bluetooth and wireless, 64mb graphics, xppro, cdr, etc. With rebates and offers $1550.00. Not bad, I only use this computer for general business and internet, email, and to download pics from my camera. Works great. Might not be for the gamers, but if you use spreadsheets daily and live by email you will love this unit. Have not used the customer service, so I can't say how awful they are. This laptop is loaded with extras and works great. Wi-Fi is fantastic. Recorded two DVDs that looked great but had a little sound synchronization problem in a couple of spots. I'm still working on that problem. Video capture at high quality is not good, probably due to hard drive speed (4200rpm), but works great at standard quality capture. I have read that hard drive speed is sacrificed for longer battery life. Battery life is very good. I can capture at high quality on my desktop and upload to this laptop via Wi-Fi. Great laptop for price but sacrifices are made for the longer battery life. These sacrifices wouldn't even be noticed if it didn't have a DVD burner. If you already have the powerhouse desktop and want portablity and longer battery life in a laptop that's loaded with extras, this is the one to get. Hide Full Review
