HDTV & Televisions : JVC LT-40FH96

This is one awesome set!! Excellent color, great blacks, SD display is on par with the CRT this JVC replaced. I am quite leary of the first two posts for this set. They claim to have had an LT-40FH96 for over a year their posts are dated Jun 2006. This set did not reach the market until Dec 2005. Hide Full Review

I have had the TV for a little over a year and it has been broke half of the time. 3 times for the lamp and once for the controlling circuit card. Each time it has taken 6 to 8 weeks to get the new parts in. Adding it up it has been down 7 months and I have had it 14. But when it is working the picture is great. Guess that is why I bought it. I have had this JVC LCD 9 montts now and it has been flawless. As soon as I got it, I calibrated it with AVIA disc, and Spyder Datacolor. The picture is stunning. And to this day, there is not a set I have seen that can beat it. HDTV and DVDs are what I watch primarily; some SDTV which looks great too!

The picture quality of the LT40FH96 is outstanding. When I read the other reviews about the lamps going bad on this set, I hope it is a isolated problem with a few sets. In reading other reviews on other forums about the JVC LT40FH96, it's nothing but positive. I for one, love this HDTV and when I receive my HD-A1 DVD player next week, this TV will really shine. Great set I bought it as used at Best buy on display, has been running for 4 months almost continuous. The set gets hot so I would make sure there is nothing that draws heat around it and you put it away from the wall, and away from any heater. That may be the cause for the lamps burning out.
