I was wondering why this camera was inexpensive and so hard to find. My first thought was that it was popular because it was so good but NOW I KNOW WHY!
The camera is nothing more than a piece of junk! So much so, that Kodak discontinued it
Although I'm not a photographic expert, I am by NO MEANS a novice either. I've had picture taking as a hobby for over 35 years.
The price was good but I did hear many complain of the quality of the pics, particularly how 'grainy' they turned out. I didn't heed the warnings because I thought it was just a small 'human error' function. Well, the joke is now on me and I am telling YOU all the same exact thing. I am taking the same ill quality of pics myself, that the pics INDEED become 'grainy' and speckled, especially when I use the optical zoom.
Yes, it's an optical 5x zoom, but when you use it for even SHORT distances, it loses quality and the priceless memories are ruined. I thought I'd love to have an 8 mp camera for the picture quality, but I soon realized that it means your pics will be over 3000 pixels!! You WILL have to resize EACH AND EVERY ONE of your pics if you want to share them via email or photo uploading sites, unless of course you adjust the image size in your camera options and if THAT'S the case...why should you spend more money on extra pixels you aren't using?
There are so many 'bells and whistles' features and options, but by the time you figure out which one to use for a particular shot...the moment is GONE! The auto option is great for outside pics and that's about it.
Again, please listen to what most of us are saying....I didn't and that's what I get...the worst camera I could have purchased!
