Bottom line is that this is a great phone. Very well built, and is extremely solid. This is my first LG phone and is my first camera phone as well. I've always purchased phones do to their quality and not the appeal, but to me this has both and is the main reason I gave it a shot. I read the review that was written above stating something about an ugly hole on the front and actually giving it somewhat of a bad review because of it. Well camera phone's unfortunately have to have a LENS which happens to be in the form of a circle on front of the phone, not a very fair remark to judge the handset on as a whole. If you're looking for something cute and adorable I wouldn't buy this phone. But if you're looking for quality, especially for the price, I would look no farther than the VX 8100. The camera takes great outdoor pictures, very clear for a phone. As far as indoors you need a descent amount of light to achieve the same quality. The pictures can be a bit fuzzy without proper lighting, but lets not forget, this is a phone with a camera feature, not a camera with a phone feature. Overall the picture quality is excellent for a phone. I've compared the quality to quite a few other camera phones ( Mainly Motorola's and a couple of Samsung's)and have yet to see one that I would consider better or even as good than the LG VX 8100. The MP3 player is a great option that I've checked out but really don't use much. I personally bought this phone to use as a "phone" and just happen to be reaping the benefits of its features. If you're looking for a million ring tones you won't find them here, if you're looking for a bunch of different themes as far as a bunch of pretty background colors and stuff like that, you won't find that here either. What you will find is a high quality, well built, nicely designed phone with crystal clear LCD displays. It has great volume control and a great speaker phone. You'll have 4 different display themes but you can't change the color of the main tool bar, it only has the option of red which some might find annoying. When you change the display theme it only changes the background on the screen. Thats one of the only CONS I have found, but due to the quality of the phone as a whole, I'm over it. . For example, on the VX 5200 when you change your display theme to blue, the actual tool bar itself changes to blue as does the background where as on the VX 8100 it doesn't, only the background changes to blue. This I could see bothering some people that are more about looks and little features such as display themes. You'll also find that there aren't many wallpapers to choose from either, I simply use the V Cast wallpaper and it looks great. These are things that I can see people listing as CONS, and sure, it would be nice to have more wallpapers and display themes but I personally cannot rate a phone's quality and value due to such minor, cosmetic type features it may lack. If you're like myself and want a quality phone with some really cool features to mess around with, then this is a great buy. I'm rating this phone 5/5 and would highly recommend it to anyone looking into purchasing a new handset. If you've looked into the VX 8100 but haven't purchased it yet, go ahead and buy it, you won't regret it.
