PDAs : Palm LifeDrive Mobile Manager

It is not a pocket PDA that come with good size/weight.

It is fun with the large screen + Blazer for web surfing + bluetooth keyboard typing.

However, the sluggish-ness when you try to open the contacts when compare with TX you will be a bit upset. And you cannot stream video like PocketPC Media Player.

When playing MP3, there will be skippings when switching to programs. iPod is much better for MP3 playing.

Accessories are a bit limited especially on the cradle.

Stability a bit improve with LifeDrive 2.0 updates after a year, without the need to erase HD for cold boot.

The Linux running on top of it is a bit fun.

I bought this item and had to take it back. 1) Palm does NOT even have a customer service tel# for support so when you asked me to rate their customer service, I say "WHAT service or support? They almost have none because their website is intelligible only to themselves????? 2) If you are a business person, you do not need video or music or all this other garbage that costs a lot of money. Business users need a phone and lots of memory on a hard drive to store text files and all your contacts--sales people may have up to 5000 contacts. Why do they think they can just make something up and then try to shove it down our throats for a lot of money? YTHEY SHOULD FIRST ASK WHAT THE PUBLIC WANTS AND THEN MAKE IT!
3) WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for what you get, so I took it back. I then bought a 40GB small hard drive that I take with me wherever I go and which cost $129.95 and got a Blackberry for $34 on E-Bay.
4) I had to laugh...some very stupid people are paying way over $400 on Ebay for this device when there are retailers that sell it for $365 to $360 (Staples sells it for $399) and you cannot return stuff on Ebay, while you can drive/walk back to Staples and return it if it is not what you wanted.
5) SOMEONE PLEASE, please let me know IF you see a PDA with 4gb hard drive AND phone capability. Thank you! Hide Full Review

I was very disappointed with this device, I found it slow, the screen and buttons are not comfortable to use. The reset is awkward. There were many occassions when the device shut down with fatal error message and needed soft reset. The device froze up on me and is now en route to a service center, hopefully it will be working when I get it back.
The telephone support is adequate but the website information is difficult to find and understand. I have used other palm devices and been very satisfied. The lifedrive was a let down even if it had a huge amount of memory. Hide Full Review
