HDTV & Televisions : Panasonic TH-42PX50U

I got this for my bedroom and WOW. What a joy to go to bed at nite. I have a long bedroom so I needed a big screen TV. And this fits the bill. I have a Panasonic 50" in my home theater room and since I am so happy with it I am sticking with Panasonic. Both has HDMI and this is a must hookup if you are going to enjoy HD. Dont use the cable company's 5 component wires they provide. What a mess. Anyway the picture is awesome no matter what you watch on HD. I got both of mine at Costco for great prices. You can hook up your laptop and any digicam media. And setting up tv is a breeze. I have called Panasonic tech support and they were very helpful. Keep up the good work Panasonic. Hide Full Review

This TV has the most wonderful picture ever imagined! I bought a few weeks ago and can not get enough of it. I went from a 32 inch Toshiba HD (which i still have) to this panasonic and let me tell you the vibrance of the panasonic plasma is remarkable in comparison to any tube tv. Also, I have a friend who has the th-42pd50u which is the ED version of this TV, $800-$1000 cheaper in cost, both are amazing but the 42px50u gives you more clarity and sharpness which you can see when you are closer to the tv, especially when watching HDTV programming, otherwise the picture is equally great compared to other tvs. I believe Panasonic has outdone all competition in plasma. The only downside to this TV is the single HDMI hookup, which I am using for the panasonic DVD-S77 model upconverting dvd player which is also a remarkable product. I hope to add on a Blue-Ray/HD-DVD player when they come out which would require another HDMI input or a switching 2in/1out receiver, but that is in the future, for now, it is the most perfect thing i have bought in a while. I've been researching plasmas for some time now. Finally came down to this Panasonic and the Pioneer.

First to begin with when I entered CC and saw the two of them, there was simply no comparison. The panasonic just blew every other set (including LCD's & crt's) out the window. The price was considerably lower than the Pioneer. Owning Panasonic sets b4, I could safely say this is a safe buy. I've never had to repair any of them,the oldest being 10 years. This is the only plasma that boasts of 60,000 hrs screen life. That's about 20 years if you watch for 8hrs per day, fantastic!

Every one is talking about the sound is not that good - not at all
For regular television viewing it's pretty good,after you adjust the bass & treble. I hooked this bad boy up to my HTS, and wow!! Words cant describe the viual effects from my progressive scan HTS.

If you buy such an expensive set , go the extra mile and buy some quality Monster Component Cables. You wont believe the difference their is between them and regular cables.
