HDTV & Televisions : Panasonic TH-42PX60U

I love it. Just got it from Best Buy and I love the picture quality. I also have a 30" Samsung Slimfit, so this is a huge step up and I'm still getting used to the picture size. Watching last night's NFL game was amazing. The picture couldn't have been any clearer. I did buy a reciever and speakers with optical audio cable to really bring out the sound though. I didn't like the stock sound, but it was servicable. I did a lot of research on the plasma screens, and I went with Panasonic for its quality of product and reasonable price (compared other 42" plasmas it really isn't that bad). When you're spending $2,000....what's one hundred dollars more? Hide Full Review

I have had this TV for about 3 months now and it is fantastic. I have HD cable and even the non HD channels look great. In HD mode the colors and contrast are awsome. There is no other way to watch sporting events than on a HDTV like this one. I compared this set with others for about a week before I went to Best Buy to buy it. I was not let down by my research. Not much to say but loving watching tv and movies. I love my new tv. I have wanted a plasma for a long time. Went to Best Buy on the friday after Thanksgiving before they closed with a LCD or Plasma on the brain. Decided on plasma. I asked the guy to check with the warehouse to see out of the Pioneer, Panasonic, or Hitachi what was left. He came back and said we have some good news they are all in stock but the Panasonic is on sale and we have one left. He sold it to us for $999 and another $100 off for hooking us up through our cable company with HD. We could not turn it down and we are happy we bought it. One thing that was frustrating. They could not get the Geek Squad (yes that is their real name) to come out for over a week to hook us up. So we called our cable company to get HD and they walked us through how to set it up. We were like kids at Christmas. Could not wait. The Panasonic was not as pretty as the Pioneer but the picture makes up for it. I liked the black frame on the Pioneer. Hide Full Review

Bought a Samsung 42" DLP. Had a lousy fuzzy pic even on HD. Brought it back and was suggested to pick up the Plasma TH-42PX60U. Was told the lettering on SD would be crisp and clean and picture would not be as fuzzy on SD as it was on the Samsung. Boy were they right! Great pic on SD and amazing HD. Could not have been happier. Don't like the fact that when I change channels I have to keep changing it to JUST size each channel change but aside from that it is an awesome tv for 1199.00. PC RICHARDS salesman had 5 of these at home and suggested it. I also would tell anyone to buy this TV. Hide Full Review
