Digital Cameras : Pentax Optio 60

I liked the fact that a menu was not necessary to select features, and it has 6 MP, but the battery life erased all of the Pros for this camera. I only got about 10 pictures on a set of 2 AA batteries. To change batteries that often makes the camera useless, regardless of the features. I took it back and got a Nikkon. Hide Full Review

This camera is the biggest piece of garbage I have ever used. The auto focus completely sucks! it can't read lighting worth a darn! The flash is so freaking bright that even in dark rooms people are completely whited out in the pictures. Forget trying to use it for close ups! Will NEVER happen. Total piece of !t! I also have an Optio S50, which is a very good little camera, but the Optio 60 was a disappointment after using the S50.

It has massive shutter lag. It's auto-exposure and auto-whitebalance are terrible. It only offers ISO 64, 100 and 200 - making photos in even moderately low-light conditions almost impossible.

And one of the most annoying features for me has been the camera's tendency to 'forget' the date. After being switched off for more than a few hours it resets to July 1 2005. This is regardless of battery charge.

Others have complained about the battery life, but I've had no problems with 2400mAh NIMH batteries. Hide Full Review

We bought this camera only because we lost or somebody stole our previous one. I have been so happy with the quality of photo that it takes. I didn't even realize it, but it will take a moving picture with sound and is pretty good. You could shoot a little pilot movie with this device. I have some problems with my hands and have trouble pushing the shutter button, but that's not really a fault of this camera. The six megapixel picture lends itself well to digital zooming using the PC, really remarkable resolution. For the money, this has way more features than I'd expect. These include manual control over shutter speed and aperture. All in all, a great value. Hide Full Review
