Cell Phones : Samsung Instinct

We received this phone free from an online survey company to try out (and eventually keep!). We were surprised at the full compliment of accessories that came with this phone...wall charger, spare battery, case, and stylus. It is a great phone that is easy to navigate around and has plenty of cool features to keep you going like calendar, alarm, notes, etc.

The only problem we have with this phone is the fact that the stylus comes with it, but there is no place to store the stylus on the phone for easy retrieval and use. We don't want to carry the stylus separate from the phone, but with the Instinct, we have no choice. This is the only drawback to the phone that we have.

This has been the best cell phone I have ever had. I love everything about it. It comes with 2 batteries which allows you to talk up a storm. It also come's with a little case you can put a battery into to charge from the outside of the little case and the case keeps the battery charged once it has been fully charged a light would turn green. It comes with a case to protect your cell and headphones. I ordered a very nice case for my cell online from the sprint store which comes with the little touchscreen pen which makes it a lot easier to type and send messages. It's like a keyboard. Oh! and you can write what you like on the text screen and it will type it for you as you write. The GPS system is the best!!! I love it. I also downloaded some of my own music from my computer into my cell phone so when I'm working out I can use my cell phone as my mp3 player. You can watch tv, read the news, video's...there are so many wonderful things you can do with this phone. You or a love one would love it! It would be a great Christmas gift for someone special...geez I should work for Sprint...lol. just kidding!!!

Fast, easy UI. Speech to action is great. Made an iPhone user turn green when we were in the car and she told me about a great cafe. But, didn't know how to get there. I started talking to my phone. The phone told me how to get there. All without taking my eyes off the road! I've also noticed that the iPhone can't always find where you are. While my Instinct always pinpoints me on the map. Tried that side by side with iPhone users many times.

Email and msging functions are convenient. All 4 main menus are laid out well and easily customized. Sending pics or videos is a breeze. With the screen magnification, touching small menu listings on a web page with the tip of your finger isn't a problem. So, on a whole, I don't mind everyone's complaint of nowhere to stow the stylus.

Oh, I don't have to deal with AT&T and their bloody black-holes of coverage!

Spare battery means I never run out of juice. No matter how hard I run it. one is always charging.

There is a lack of apps currently out there. I would love it if I could sync it to my iCal. It's not really a game unit, but then, I'm not much of a gamer. It would also be nice if it had a universal pin style charging plug. But, now I'm getting picky... In all, I love this unit! Hide Full Review

You won't be disappointed with this phone but you will find it different than a regular phone. My previous phone was a Blackberry Pearl and I truly loved it but wanted something new and different like a touchscreen phone. I had been eyeing the Instinct for awhile and decided to take the plunge. One thing I noticed right off was how responsive it is to your finger or stylus. Scrolling through your contacts is a breeze but sometimes if you press to hard you may sellect the wrong one. I fixed this by getting a screen cover that has a slight texture and now I don't have that problem anymore. Can't wait for the next software upgrade (coming soon) to see what Samsung gives us next!
