HDTV & Televisions : Samsung LN-S4096D

I bought this tv for a family room. I have a 65" Mitsubishi in our theatre room which is 1080 HDTV. I seriously considered moving this Samsung to our theatre room. What a great vibrant picture. Bright and colorful true to action; I find myself watching this tv more often than I would have imagined, considering the home theatre system we have. The picture is amazing when working. In previous reviews, I raved about the new TV BUT ...

After two months of ownership, the speakers have went bad. The rattled during most the HD shows and proved to be very annoying.

I called Samsung support they assign a technician and takes a four weeks to attempt to repair the problem. His solution, replace the speakers and said, "it is not the TVs fault that you choose to watch HD shows. The TV speakers do not know the difference between HD and standard shows. Turn the volume down and you should not have the problem."

After the technician left (literally an hour later) my screen goes black. Obviously not a good sign, to resolve I have to turn off and then back on. This is not happening at least twice an hour. I assume the tech. did something to cause this issues as this was never a problem to before he repaired the speakers.

After calling Samsung again, they noted the tech will be out in a week. The tech then notes it may be 2-3 weeks after that to order the parts.

In the end, I will be out almost seven weeks without a fully functioning TV that cost upwards of $2800.

I will let you be the ultimate judge but this has encouraged me to not purchase Samsung products in the future. I believe they do not stand by the quality of their products nor the service associated to their warranty. Hide Full Review

I love my Samsung!! This is a great TV. We looked at several different brands at several different stores and by far the Samsung stood out as the best every time. The picture quality is excellent!!!!Definately better then any others, which is obvious at just one look. The design is also very attractive, compared to other brands, with the glossy black finish. Although the true black of the design does make black on the screen seem dull. The sound is good. The viewing radius is also excellent, unlike may LCD that can not be viewed well from the side. I would say at about a 5 degree angle from the screen and you can still see the picture perfect. And I also love that there is no glare, which is what made me choose the samsung LCD over the samsung plasma.We have had this TV for about 6 months and had no problems what so ever, and we even bought a floor model!!!
