HDTV & Televisions : Samsung LNT4061FX

I just received this TV today and I'm more than impressed. I had been shopping around for over a month reading reviews and comparing prices and options and all that, when I came across the new 2007 model from Samsung. After seeing the price and the spec's I figured I couldn't go wrong so I bought it online and saved about 1000 dollars. I had already had the HDTV cable box and the up conversion DVD player w/ the HDMI cables waiting when my TV arrived. Hooked everything up, it was very easy to set up, turned it on and was blown away, it just has an awsome picture the best I've seen and I've seen alot over the last month or so. This TV is a steal for the price. Many of the TV's in the same price range/quality that have similar features are priced higher. Features wise its pretty standard with a couple bonuses. PIP is great but I do wish there was an option to change the input for the PIP. For some reason you can not view certain input combinations. My other minor complaint is there are no optical inputs, but I guess if your going HDMI why would you need it? I own other Samsung products and the remotes need some work in general. For this TV it had very small square buttons on the bottom half of the remote which is kind of awkward. Again these are very minor complaints. What I like about this TV I can plug lots of devices into it, from PS3 to video editing euipment. Picture quality wise it is excellent especially when you keep this in mind, your picture is only as good as the source. Most consumers jump into the HD revolution with out realizing that lots of LCD's are 720p. Don't get me wrong 720p is great and difference between 1080p is fairly small but if 1080p will be new standard why spend another $1000.00-2000.00 in 2-3 years to replace your 720p TV? I have a 42" Samsung Slimline that started showing purple haze clouds all over the screen at just under 1000 hours of use. This plasma is supposed to be good for 10,000 hours!! After doing the research I realized I should have done my homework. There are many Samsung "owner" blogs chronicling the many many problems with ALL Samsung models. Never again.
