Digital Cameras : Samsung NV10

I got my NV10 about two weeks ago and I have literally not been able to put it down. I am just a recreational photographer but with this camera I have been going out everyday to get pictures of the fall foliage and the pictures look absolutely amazing. They are crystal clear and crisp even at high zoom levels and the anti-shake technology Samsung has incorporated keeps the pictures from blurring. It takes great pictures indoors or out, in all different lighting conditions, and has a whole bunch of picture settings to choose from (portrait, landscape, etc.). I got this camera about two weeks ago and I got to say that I am so glad I bought the NV10. Other models I was considering was the Canon SD630, Casio EX-Z1000, and Sony DSC-T50. I am so glad I made the right choice and went with Samsung's NV10. The NV10 is breathtaking to look at and even more amazing to hold in your hand. Its based on the "classic" camera shapes and holding it has never been more comfortable. The construct of the camera is also outstanding...the material is top notch and feels like a solid chunk of metal in your hand instead of the flimsey feeling from other cameras. The picture quality of the camera is also top notch. The pictures are crisp, clear, and no noise at all. It even provides great macro shots and low lighting shots as well. The greatest thing about this camera would have to be its menu system. Its based on a touch sensitive button system surrounding the LCD screen. I've never picked options that quickly on other button based cameras. Its a totally innovative system and I can definitely see it catching on. All in all, this is a great camera and I would recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a digital camera. Hide Full Review

I bought the NV10 mostly because of its beautiful design... It is such a sweet camera, I take it everywhere with me now, and it takes just as much space as my wallet.

Quick response on taking pictures, the smart touch screen is very responsive, and easy to use.

It is by no means a "professional" camera, but for portability and features, and for a under $300 price (if you look at the right place), it is worth every penny! Hide Full Review

As most reviewers concur there is something very special with this camera, I own several and none have the same "wow" factor (anyone who sees it wants to hold it).

The "smart touch" buttons that change function to allways give you inmediate access to what is needed in every situation in plain genius, a big leap in user interface for digicams.

Picture quality is very good, BUT you do need a steady hand (or tripod) to avoid getting a blurry pic once in a while due to the lack of any mechanical stabilization and forget low-light shots w/o flash since high iso is very grainy and noisy (again a mini-tripod will save the day).
The flash works fine though, even if red-eye is a bit more prominent than with similar cams.

For me it's a bit like the Ipod, even though there are better alternatives I find myself using it just cause I love the design and the way it "feels".

There are better and cheaper cameras out there, but if you get this one you will probably end up loving it, I did.... Hide Full Review
