Cell Phones : Samsung SCH-A990

I have had this phone for a month and a half and I love it. I have been looking for a good camera phone for a while and did not want to leave Verizon (they have the best service that i have experienced and i've had them all) and was very excited to get it. Being a guy, I like have very few things to carry around and having this phone means that I don't have to carry my MP3 player and digital camera around anymore. Having the microSD slot means that I can transfer pictures back and forth to change my screen backgrounds w/o having to pay for them from VCast. The music player is easy to use but only handles WMAs (which every PC has anyways), but is difficult to get to. I've set my shortcut key to the music mode but it still takes a lot of button pushed to get to the actual player. creating a playlist is also quite time consuming. The camera function is excellent except for the fact that the "take picture" button if pushed for too long will change to "record video" which is quite annoying when trying to take a quick picture. A quick picture is also kind of hard to take as there is a lag between pushing the button and the "auto focus" process so be prepared to wait about two seconds. The phone functions great and even comes with a handy dandy leather wrist strap. I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone who is looking for nicely priced camera phone. Hide Full Review

I had a Samsung A970. Due to water damage, my insurance upgraded my model to the A990 - woo hoo! ! ! Awesome deal - thank you insurance company.



Excellent camera. The 970's camera shoots from the edge of the phone.



Open the 990's cover - rotate it 180 degrees and close it again and it looks like your everyday digi-cam. Even has a slide open lense cover!



Picture size is 2048x1536. Size is reduced for e-mailing. Great resolution pictures.



You can set the camera to save directly to the transflash as a default.



Takes great video too.



Comes with a cable to plug into the phone to send your pics and movies straight to your TV/VCR/Computer via RCA connectors.



970's Transflash card max'd out @ 512 megs. 990's Transflash handles a full 1 gig card.



Nice slim sized transformer brick on the home charger.

I love this phone, ever since i bought i could never put it down. The camera is amazing. I have a digital camera and I have not used it ever since I bought the phone. I'll recomend everyone to buy this phone. Hide Full Review
