Printers : Samsung SCX 4725FN

I purchased this machine 3 years ago. Printing quality is OK. Printing speed is good.
Copying, faxing and other functions are hampered by a feeding tray that jams papers most of the time.
Machine has a constant humming sound that is extremely loud and I end up turning off the machine after each print job.
Also, incoming fax is accompanied by a schockingingly loud beep and there is no way to reduce the level of this beep.
Toner price is quite expensive (about $75) and the output is less than 3,000 pages per toner. Hide Full Review

I was able to get this printer for about $220 at a local retailer, and after two months am still really liking it. The print speed is great, but the printer takes forever to warm up from standby mode, which is the only mode in which it does not make a constant and annoying fan noise. The scanner, copier, and fax all work great, and so far the PC driver has been one of the best and most intuitive I've used. Unfortunately, what comes out is a lot lighter, even with toner save off, than the work from my 1998 LaserJet 6P. The toner is also very expensive, and the duty cycle of the cartridge seems relatively low.

All of that being said, for the price, this is a great printer, and if you don't mind cutting a few corners, it fills all the basic needs of a home office. Hide Full Review
