Cell Phones : Samsung SPH-i700

This device has simplified my life tremendously. I affectionately refer to it as "my brain". I have MS and this device enables me to deal with my forgetfulness and memory deficits graciously. My occupational therapist at Kessler Institute (one of the leading rehabs in the country) told me that she wished she could teach some of her clients how to use the i700. I can program wav files to customize what I hear for tasks, ringtones, voice messages, etc. Anything from a snippet of my favorite song to a snippet of a funny movie. I can watch video, browse the web with internet explorer, take pictures, send pictures, play games, you name it. I've had this device for 2 yrs now and have loved every minute of it. I have broken it by mistake and Verizon replaced it overnight free of charge. You can't go wrong with this device. Hide Full Review

I HAVE HAD MY PHONE A WEEK AND HAVE HAD TO RESET IT WITH A HARD RESET ABOUT 2 TIMES ALREADY. THIS CAUSED ME TO REPLACE THE PHONE NBRS THAT I NEEDED BECAUSE I WAS NOT NEAR MY SYSTEM TO DO A SYNC TO BRING THINGS BACK. THE HANGS WERE SO BAD THAT TOP OF THE SCREEN WAS JUST BLACK SO YOU COULD NOT HIT THE WINDOWS ICON ON THE TOP OF THE SCREEN TO GO INTO ANY PROGRAMS. THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE WAS A HARD RESET. HOPE THING GET BETTER. I ALSO HAD TO DO THIS WHEN I COULD NOT GET CONNECTED ON VERIZON FOR INTERNET. AFTER RESETTING WAS ABLE TO GET INTERNET CONNECTION BACK UP. ALSO NOT HAPPY WITH PAYING 15 DOLLARS TO UPGRADE FROM WINDOWS 2002 TO 2OO3.. AS A PHONE OWNER I FEEL THE AGREEMENTS WITH VERIZON AND MICROSOFT FOR THE PRICE YOU PAY FOR THE PHONE SHOULD BE INCLUDED. I LOOK AT THIS AS A FIRMWARE UPGRADE.

I read in the desription, "Average battery life 130 hours." That is so far off, it is fraud. Even with the large battery. If you turn it off with the phone on wake up, it won't get 12 hours. With any kind of usage, I give it 6-8 hours on a charge.

That considered, I like my access to my MS Outlook calendar and contacts. Worth the hassle. Hide Full Review
