Home Video : Sony DVP-S330

I have had this player for about 6 months now and have found it acceptable for the most part. I would give it a 5 star rating were in not for the audio and sync problems. Occasionally the audio will go out of sync and the only way to correct the problem that I have found is to eject the DVD and re-insert it. A second audio problem is occasional garbled sound that requires the same remedy.

I own many Sony products and it seems the newer ones simply aren\'t designed and built with the same care that Sony used to put into their products. This is probably my last Sony product. My Sony DSS converter needs to be unplugged from the power occasionally because of pixellation and The ES 850 receiver I recently replaced with an Onkyo has horrible crosstalk. This S330 player lacks a zoom capability and
viewers are thus trapped in letterbox/widescreen format
with any DVD\'s produced in that format (which is
most). In my opinion, with any television smaller than
27", letterboxing makes a movie very difficult to
enjoy. This player should not be bought for any reason.
It\'s technical merits do not outweigh this lack of
flexibility, and other players on the market are better

Great sound, great picture, Easy to use. However,
Had major problems with the picture stoping, then
jumping back several chapters in the movie, this happened
on about 80% of the 30+ movies that I rented, also
the sound would get out on sync with the picture from
time to time. I may have purchased a lemon i did not
get this model serviced I puchased a different
model.Makes it hard to recomend. Hide Full Review
