HDTV & Televisions : Sony KD-27FS170

Five months after buying my Sony 27" flat screen the set went completely dead. Thanks to Sony's stingy 90 day service warranty, the repair was on me. It took over three weeks to get the set fixed at a cost close to the purchase price of the tv. Called sony and they basically said tough luck. In addition, the set has an annoying delay before the picture comes on. It also is very heavy, about 100 lbs. Never, and I mean never, will I buy another Sony product. Hide Full Review

Very seldom used, maybe 3 or 4 times a week.

Just went dead on me. No picture no nothing. Flashing little red light on front says standby/timer, figured I sat on the remote.

I called Sony and was told no, it is doing a self diagnostic to keep from further damage.
I ask her if she thought it was bad and she said yes.

She ask if I bought the extended warenty and I told her I didn't think I needed one since my Slyvania had lasted 20 plus years.
