HDTV & Televisions : Sony KV-20FS120

I liked mine. I had it for about three years and it performed well. The 20" screen was very readable at 8-10 feet with no distortion. It was hooked up to satellite, so no idea how the reception was by itself. Would have liked an SVideo port on it.

I purchased this TV in mid-March 2005. After three months, not the picture tube but another kind of tube blew out. For two weeks, thereafter, Sony argued that the cause of no picture was my cable, the cableperson said it was the TV and came out twice to look at this TV. Finally, a specialist from Sears determined that it was the Sony TV.

The next problem was since it had a warranty of only 3-month for parts and labor, and two weeks had passed after the three months, now I was required to pay for the labor. The Sears specialist determined labor @ about $175.00; not worth fixing.

The Sears corporate office intervened in the situation, since the Sears store would not take it back. The result was a replacement; I chose another brand.

As a result of this, I no longer have faith in high-price Sony electronics. While I have a Sony Vaio Notebook now, my next notebook will not be Sony.

I want a company that will stand behind its product (if there are any).
