HDTV & Televisions : Toshiba 62MX195

I would not recommend buying this product until they sort out their electrical issues. This TV obviously has a defect and Toshiba refuses to do anything about it other than send out a repairman. It takes a week to get the repairmen out to the house BEFORE they can even order the bulb which then takes 5-10 business days. After the 2 weeks of having no TV, they can now start to look into what might be causing the problems. They still have not found the source of the problem and Toshiba refuses to extend warranty or give any kind of written promise to continue to fix the TV once the 1 year warranty has run out even though they know it's been problematic since the start (1st bulb blew out less than 2 months after we bought it and took over FOUR weeks to get a replacement because they were on back order) Bulbs being on back order that long is an indication that other people are having same problems. in fact, our local repairman told me he has another client with same TV and same problem (bulb has blown out 4x in 1st year) and we live in a small town. I've also read othe reviews for Toshiba TV's and many report same problem as me. I have talked to their customer service dept several times and no one there is helpful at all. I strongly recommend buying a different brand. I know I will never buy a Toshiba again after the way they've treated us. Hide Full Review

I have had this TV for almost six months. Anything in HD is fabulous. Main viewing spot is about 13 feet from the 62-inch screen, and it rocks! Once you adjust the audio, the sound is pretty good without a surround system. No problems with any electrical, it is "on" 5-10 hours a day, and still on the first bulb. Football in HD has replaced going to church on Sunday. Still awaiting Blu-Ray to come down in price to really enjoy movies. Kids are the neighborhood heroes when having friends over to play Wii. Excellent competive tv for the price. Very easy to operate with many varies cable and hdmi connections. The audio is the weakess point...needs a theater system hook up to sound good. The HD programs and dvds playback are really and detailed. Hide Full Review

We took ours back to the store after three weeks. The TV would not come on and just kept saying "Lamp not working" We were worried about keeping something that broke down so quickly, so we decided it was better to get our money back. We will eventually buy another one, a different name brand. Hide Full Review
