Laptops : Toshiba Satellite R15-S822

I love this computer! To me, laptops have 2 major flaws- they need a flat surface to rest on, and using your index finger on a touch pad for a mouse is difficult. This computer overcomes these problems. The swivel screen can be laid flat and you can carry the computer around like it was a book, or sit with it in your lap. Using a pen for a cursor is easier on the hand and much more precise in navigation. If only Toshiba produced a higher quality product - I have had screws come loose in the unit, the power cord died within 6 months and I had to buy another, and MS Office was a trial edition only and I had to buy the product key, another additional expense. I am extremely satisfied with this laptop. The wi-fi setup is magical, there's no real slowdown when multiple apps are open, and the tabletpc features are amazing. Sometimes the tablet features are TOO intuitive (it took me a while to realize that to change screen orientation I just tilt it in the direction I want the orientation to move to and hit a button below the screen. Amazing!)



I wish I'd chosen a 12.1 screen that was lighter because while the tabletpc features are great and useful, it isn't the sort of thing you can hold like a legal pad and take notes. Your arm will tire out quickly!



Overall I'm thrilled with it. I'd buy another Toshiba, and will own nothing but tablets from now on. But I'll make sure my next one doesn't weigh me down. Hide Full Review
