NEC calls its SuperScript 4200N printer the affordable color laser printer for workgroups. Its small footprint and modular design support a range of expansion possibilities like increased memory and paper handling options.

The SuperScript 4200N features a fast 100 MHz 64-bit RISC processor and 32MB memory, upgradeable to 128MB. Paired with Adobe PostScript 3, this printer generates print speed up to 4 ppm color, 16 ppm black at 600 dpi. The network interface card with fast Ethernet 10/100 Base-T makes this color laser printer the ideal tool for networked business environments. Print on transparencies, heavy stock, letterhead and labels up to 8.5 x 14 inches in size. A 250-sheet cassette is standard, with optional 250-sheet feeder and legal tray available. The SuperScript 4200N uses separate toner cartridges for each of the four colors. These single component toner modules mean less mess and less work for the user. The 4200N also features PrintAgent printing, so you can access the Web for real-time print-job status, as well as remote and pull printing from anywhere. The SuperScript 4200N is compatible with Windows 3.1x, 95/98, Windows NT 4.0 and Macintosh 7.1. It uses a bi-directional parallel interface and comes with an Ethernet 10/100Base-T network interface card installed.
