Manufacturer's description

Right from the start, the CQ-VD7001U comes with built-in 5.1 channel Dolby Digital and DTS decoders - the essential keys to theater surround sound in your car. A complete array of parameters permits optimization of 5.1-channel surround sound reproduction for the actual installation in your vehicle. A Dolby Pro Logic II decoder is also included so you can enjoy surround sound from a regular stereo source.

Take your DVDs on the road with this large, 7" diagonal, 16: 9 widescreen LCD that delivers clear, high-resolution images. Plus, an internal backlight and non-glare surface enhance your viewing experience. And, as an added touch of convenience, all you have to do is press the tilt button to quickly fold the screen forward (down to 25 degrees) for easy access to dash and air conditioning controls.

To operate most functions, all you need to do is touch the screen; it's that simple. The intuitive graphical user interface features clear, color graphics and text that let you "touch and choose" what you want, so you can start using your system from the very first day quickly and easily. Now you can directly select language, angle and other playback details with just a touch. What could be more convenient and enjoyable!

A MOS-FET high power amplifier (50W x 4 max.) delivers pure signal output by minimizing crossover distortion during current-to-voltage conversion of the signal from the preamp stage. What does this mean? Benefits are apparent in an excellent high-range signal-to-noise ratio, reflecting minimal treble noise. The result is highly faithful sound reproduction with expressive musical detail.

What if your car's four speakers could deliver the virtual ambiance and soundstage depth of a 5.1-channel surround system? SRS technology makes that possible with multi-channel sound not just from DVD videos, but also from any music source including the radio, WMAs, MP3s, and CDs. This 3D sound reproduction technology is based on HRTF (Head Related Transfer Function) theory. It compensates the signal based on the way humans determine sound directionality according to frequency changes. This lets you experience a natural sound field anywhere in the car, unlike artificial sound-field manipulation by methods such as time delay. TruBass and Focus functions are also provided to bring back the rich bass and sparkling treble tones that tend to be lost in compressed music formats like MP3 and WMA.

With the CQ-VD7001U you can enjoy a new generation of radio-XM satellite Radio-when you hook up the optional XM receiver and digital adapter. XM Radio uses digital transmission to provide CD-like sound quality, with over 130 channels and 100% commercial-free music on channels of your choice. In addition to rock, jazz, country, blues, classical and other genres on more than 60 music channels, you also have over 30 channels of news, sports, talk and entertainment, plus over 20 dedicated channels of XM instant traffic and weather. With XM Radio, you can look forward to a mobile listening experience that's always fresh and never boring.

When used in conjunction with additional monitors and headphones, front-seat passengers can enjoy one program while rear-seat passengers are entertained by another. Here's how: When the function is activated, rear speaker sound is muted, while the sound for the rear is transmitted to headphones. To headphone listeners, the front speaker sound becomes almost inaudible, and vice versa, so each side can choose their preferred content without annoying the other.
