A newly developed dual amp drive system dramatically enhances sound quality in 2-channel playback by making it possible for two amps to drive non-bewared speakers (that is, ordinary speakers connected via a single speaker cable). The digital amp's superb mid- and high-range response combines synergistically with the dynamic bass provided by dual amp drive to create the kind of emotionally rich, moving sound that even a high-end analog amp cannot match.

To unleash the full capabilities of DVD-Audio, the SA-XR55 features a wide power bandwidth that easily handles the 88-kHz frequency of DVD-Audio's highest-quality 192 kHz/24-bit, 2-channel sources. Multi-channel playback is superb. The SA-XR55 supports today's most advanced surround sound formats, including Dolby Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Digital EX, DTS 96/24, DTS-ES, and DTS NEO: 6 Decoder.
