RichardBronosky Are there any free stock data web APIs out there? - RichardBronosky Very similar the way you can do http://api.search.yahoo.com/WebSearchService/V1/webSearch?appid=YahooDemo&query=madonna&results=2 to use Yahoo! web search, I would like to request data about a symbol. In addition to current price, I would like to request: 1. 1 day's data by 5 minute increments 2. 5 day's data by hourly increments ... 1 month's data, 3 month's data, 1 year data, etc. I would like to develop a killer widget with this data.
Best Answer: There are 2 ways to get the stock data. One using the web API and another using CSV file. Web API - http://ws.netedgesoftware.com/wsenabler/1.0/StockInfoVB.asmx?op=GetHistory CSV download approach - http://finance.yahoo.com/d/quotes.csv?s=MSFT&f=sl1d1t1c1ohgv&e=.csv You can download more symbols by changing the value of s parameter. Separate the symbols by + character. - Mangalore Dude
there are many confebulators that uses APIs to show stocks. you might want to try and check there what they are using - Just a friend of a friend ( 12 )
