How do I get my desktop to alert me to newly received emails? I'm with yahoo.? - noel g

Best Answer: You can either keep Yahoo! Messenger running (like chuck c said), or you can set up your account within Outlook/Outlook Express. You will need the incoming and outgoing mail server addresses, as well as the incoming and outgoing mail server ports. These should be in Yahoo's Help section. - aidankate0307@sbcglobal.net

you hvae to have yahoo messenger. since you're new, i'd advise you to check out the "preferences" section under "messenger" on your messenger list. explore! - toshanicole29

when you are yahho messnenger and cick the exit butten and again another box will come on and when you cilck ok and you will recive insat messages and mail - adrisk2002

I'm not a member of Yahoo but, when I'm online i get a notice that a email is in my Inbox<> - YAH!

ANSWER: If you install Yahoo messenger and set its preferences to get email, you will be notifed every time you get an email. In addition, if you use a POP3 mail client and use YPOPS, and have it periodically refresh, your mail client can inform you when the mail comes in. - zapdude1
