fireboy5516 If Your Schools Computer Has Blocks On It How Can U get Around Them.? - fireboy5516
Best Answer: Use Babelfish http://www.babelfish.altavista.com... Officially this is a site designed to let you be able to translate a website from one language to another. However, if you type the web address you want to visit in the 'translate a web page section' then choose 'dutch to English' (or any other language to English) from the menu then click translate you will be able to view this site. The good thing is this site has a perfectly legitimate purpose so you're unlikely to get caught looking at banned sites by network administrators. Hope this Helps! - Dan211
Most schools now implement content filtering, which utilize a vast database that is updated daily (in some cases hourly)for blocking queries to a site. If you are looking for a legitimate site, I would suggest working with the schools network admin. If not then I would wait until you get home since your chances of bypassing a filter are very slim. Comment on answer above: Babelfish was indeed a way to get around specific blocks, however Bess and Websense are now tracking translations of foreign languages. Please keep in mind that most systems keep a log of sites visited and also display reports of anything odd (top 10 surfers, etc...) so be smart and use your time at school wisely. TX - txengineer762
what kind of blocks? limited access to comp or net? at the extreme, i go for the live linux cd distros. you'll bypass everything at boot and have access to the net, etc. just make sure the bios is changed to have the boot priority set to read the cd drive first. - LilWyte83
