Best Answer: Apart from getting pop-up blocker, get an anti-spyware software. "Dogging" is a slang used in th UK to describe gatherings of couples in their cars at car parks, and voyeurs are invited to watch. If voyeurs were asked by the police what they doing at the car park, they would reply that they were "walking their dog" or if they haven't got a dog, they were "looking a for a lost dog". - Kreb D
If the pop-up comes when you are using a web-browser then get a pop-up blocker. If the pop-ups some at other times when you are not using a web-browser then they are being sent directly to your PC using the Microsoft messenger service (this is not the same as MSN messenger). Read this article and follow it's advise - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/security/learnmore/stopspam.mspx If you want to know what 'dogging' is then read this (prepare to be shocked!!) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogging - Dark Star
It seems through your innocent searching you have been infected with a trojan which then displays these pop ups. It is possible to be infected with a trojan or a virus through visiting a website "just out of curosity...." These adult websites provide "free" stuff but you have to pay by providing your e-mail address which is then sold on so you receive lots of e-mails about, yes, p*rn. Or you click link after link to get that elusive "free" stuff and there we are, you have a trojan or a virus so your system can dial a special number or download software so you can do this. Usually, avoid "free" stuff, it ain't worth the trouble. Er, not that it happened to me you understand... - realdragonflame
Buy a anti-virus software form a PC shop. I use McAfee. Its not the best but it it is worth the price. - EURiCO
maybe you have been infected but an adware... get an antispyware programm (ad-aware for example at http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=pop ) - papagalos99
Get a Yahoo Tooolbar! - progrAMMAR
It is a result of adware. I suggest downloading both AdAware from http://www.lavasoft.com as well as Spybot S&D from http://www.spybot.com install and run both applications. You can also go one step farther and download the beta copy of Microsoft's antispyware program called Windows Defender but since it is a beta I don't recommend doing that inless you feel confident in using beta software. Windows Defender: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=435bfce7-da2b-4a6a-afa4-f7f14e605a0d&displaylang=en Spybot S&D: http://www.spybot.com Adaware: http://www.lavasoft.com - Five
