sony tv troubleshooting? - mamapepinos I have a Sony kp-65ws510 big screen. I was watching it and it just shut off. I am getting a error code of 8 blinks on the standby light. When the power is pushed tv powers on then right off...no picture just a quick pop out of the speaker. Any ideas of what this could be?

Best Answer: 8 blinks indicate a "High Voltage" failure code. Most likely the IHVT transformer or the HV regulator has failed.... - reggieman

You are best off with calling Sony Tech support. I used to sell TV's for Circuit City and I recommend you call them. I forget what that error code is and they will have the best answer for you. - Vince
