bilalsattar@sbcglobal.net CD Drive Problem!!!!? - bilalsattar@sbcglobal.net i have a cd/dvd drive/burner that used to work perfectly... now it doesnt even show up in "My Computer". When i use a software that uses the cd drive, it asks me to attach a drive... PLEASE HELP!!!
Best Answer: Sometimes it works to uninstall the CD Rom, then reboot and XP will Find New Hardware and automaticly re-install it. Just go to Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager and uninstall it there. Good luck. - Marissa
start - control panel - system - hardware - device manager - look for any ! or x marks delete them and reboot your computer - topdn
is the light on the drive blinking when you push the eject button? if it does not then you have a dead drive. Else you might have a loose cable If you are not familiar bring it to a service center - jjudianto
I had the same problem, what you need to is open up the pc (hopefully yours pc is a desktop) and make sure that the connections that go to the CD drive are connected right and inserted right as well. - Dr.Z
