Best Answer: You can also try using two fingers. If you put two fingers down on the pad and move them up and down, scrolling should follow. If nothing is working, there is a chance that you don't have the necessary drivers and/or software installed on your laptop. If you visit http://www.hp.com and look for their support/drivers section, you'll probably be able to enter your HP5000 model number and get the required utilities to enable scrolling with the mouse pad. - adam.aspinall

Move your finger down the very right side of the finger mouse pad. And also the very bottom from left to right to scroll. - jhicago
