Pill Popper Is BT Broadband (with Home Hub) all it is cracked up to be?? - Pill Popper i am with tiscali know and it is TERRIBLE, should i switch to BT, i heard that it is very good. but are they?? and is BT VISION like sky tv, i mean does it have all the sky channels?? I want to get the Option 3 http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=15744#option3wireless
Best Answer: Go for Bt. I had tiscali and when i had problems they just passed from pillar to post and did not want to know. I only had 1 problem with Bt and that was sorted out in 24 hours, unlike the 6 months with tiscali. - Louise H
Don't bother your connection is probably a limiting factor and Tiscali are using BT for this so your service will not improve. It might even get as bad as mine - Local Exchange max 2mb my line max 1.5mb my actual off peak max speed 480kb plus frequent interruptions. As for back up the 'tech' guys seem to know very little and just copy from a script delaying so you eventually give up. I'm on Option 2 but I doubt if its possible to use 8gb in a month at my speed. BT seem unwilling to tell me what my actual usage is. Otion3 is a waste of money unless you get at least the 4mb you need for their TV box - DIXIE
I`ve been with BT for a long time and when I upgraded to the BT Total Broadband Hub & Phone I liked it. And I`ve never had any problems with it: http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayCategory.do?categoryId=CON-TOTAL-BB-R1 The Hub & Phone come free with the option you have mentioned - "Option 3" BT Vision: http://www.btvision.bt.com/vision/ :-) - Northern Lad
I'm not surprised that you want to leave tiscali they are crap, bt broadband is one of the best in the UK, when the BBC watchdog programme did a survey i think they came out top, I'm with them and i have the home hub/phone and never had a problem, you can always speak to someone even if they are in India and they will solve any problem you might have, i have been with several other i.s.p and in my opinion bt are miles ahead of the others - Spartan
I've had BT Home Hub for about a year, and apart from some difficulties in the first few days, which they warn you about, as the system gets up to full speed, it's been fine. A lot of people reckon the Hub itself isn't great, but I've had no trouble with it. I wouldn't bother with BT Vision though, it's basically a Freeview box with a few 'on-demand' films & old tv series available. It doesn't recieve Sky. - EvelynThe ModifiedDog.
regarding Braodband, BT Option 3 is great. you can get good download speed after 11pm till 8am. I usually get 100+ kBps (thats kilo Byte, not bit) and the browsing is fast as well, moreover you will get a good customer support team. as for BT Vision, no you will not get all the sky channels, you will ONLY GET the freeview channels and a few On demand's. On demand channels are not like usual channels, BT has saved popular serials/programs/movies from some of the channels and you can watch them anytime you want. if you dont subscribe to it, you can use pay per view scheme, but its not worth it I'd say. But BT vision is a cool device that you get free, you can pause and record Tv programs, you can program to record (only the free views) .. and no, you wont get Sky one or other channels that you can get having a sky digi box. - sifte
Don’t buy the phone it’s a con u can just attach any phone to the hub you don’t need the £40 one, I found that out to late - Brooker&me
