Lisa K Is this a good laptop for college? - Lisa K I have very little knowledge on computers, but I am looking for a good, reliable computer to go to college with. I will mainly use it for schoolwork, and surfing the net/ e-mail. I went to dell.com to customize it but I really didn't know what anything meant so I'd really appreciate to get some feedback on what I choose. Best Answer: My only criticism of what you posted is that you should probably get a more versatile wireless card that'll do a/g/n. It will help you take advantage of wireless internet wherever you go, and doesn't cost much to upgrade. You might also look into getting the business edition of vista. Otherwise, what you posted is good. - Grant G
I would refer to a site called pcmag.com, all they do is evaluate computer equipment. Try also going to consumerreports.org for some great advice. After you’ve chosen one you think you’d like go to a site called epinions.com for some great user reviews. I would use them, even over the masses, as everyone has a different opinion. Although I find you can spot trends with epinions.com and narrow down some good products that way. Go to froogle.com for some great prices, I use it often. Below are a couple of articles I found that you might find interesting, good luck! - sprott88
yes, its good enough for college. You can also play some games, but not the high end ones. - DaRealUhOh
i would personly go with vaios because they are great they have evreything theres the link at the bottom. on the link your on the second to last step the one that your on is for engraving you might want to put your name or something on it. the next step is choosing things to go with it i would take the second one the docking staion and a leather case if you dont already have one. also if you dont like what i put on you can create your own the link is under the other or you can also buy a premade one that would usally be cheaper - len

If you want reliablility, and you know very little about computers, go with a Mac. Easy to use, easy to fix, great support, can do everything Windows can (including run Windows!). Seriously, consider Mac. - TheAllKnowing
