What kind of Surround Sound system should I get? - 15fsg546rge1rrheljh45hjr90459ty3 I already have a DVD player, so I just want a Dolby 5.1 without the receiver/DVD player deal. I have a small room as well, maybe 15 feet by 15 feet, so I don't need speakers that are going to blow me away. What brand and model do you recommend? I would be running a TV, DVD, Game Cube, and a computer into it.

Best Answer: In a room such as that, you likely wouldn't really need a 7.1 system, a 5.1 would do fine. Theres a great speaker company, Polk, and they have a nifty 5.1 speaker system on sale at amazon.com, for about $250. A good quality 5.1 receiver, such as a Onkyo, a Harmon Kardon, a Yamaha, or even a Denon, can be had for starting at about $170. So, some combo based on that could have you up and running for about $450-$500. Use good 16 gauge wire for the speakers. You don't really need expensive wire like Monster Cable. - ANDRE L

You say you want 5.1 with out a reciever/DVD, I assume you mean you want it with out the amp/DVD combo. Because you need a reciever for this to work.
