Suzanne display problems with nvidia geforce 8800gs card? - Suzanne ok i have an emachines w3507 with 512 ram and i got a new nvidia geforce 8800gs alpha dog edition video card. i have all the newest drivers installed and everything seems to be connected correctly but when i turn on my computer with the card in place it will not let me raise the screen resolution above 800x600 and the color is set to 4 and also wont let me change that. everything is updated to the latest drivers and when i have the card in it does not show the old video in the device manager so i asume it is not trying to use it. the monitor i am using is an hp pavilion vx74 from another computer i had because my flat panel got broken that came with my emachines. somebody please please help. if you suggest anything that has to do with bios then ill need extremely detailed answers because i dont even know how to get in to it.
Best Answer: Well considering you have a emachine store bought computer, i think you need to buy a new powersupply because most emachines come with 250-300 watt powersupplies.... and when you try to go past 800x600 the card can't get enough power from the power supply.... , You should buy a new one ASAP - hauntofseducers
