motorman My firewire(1394 Ieee) port keeps dropping out? - motorman I have a panasonic mini dv cam and i hooked it up to my laptop(dell windows pro) firewire port and it works for about 2 or 3 mins then it dropps out and then i have to un plug and plug in again before it works again or it reconnects again after a while. why is it doing this?
Best Answer: Hi motorman, Try another cable. Your Firewire cable may be defective. Try another Firewire port in your computer. You could have a bad port. Try shutting down all unnecessary running processes. Something may be competing for the slot. Norm - Norm
