Best Answer: With 3G of RAM, you shouldn't have to much problem with vista... It's just incredibly slow compared to XP on the same hardware. (You think it's faster than your current desktop, but would be amazed how fast it is with any other operating system on it than vista.) First thing to do, though, if it came with norton, is uninstall it before it causes you problems and install a good anti-virus like NOD32 from ESET. http://www.eset.com That should keep trouble free as much as is possible. - Brian F
I have Vista and cant tell much difference between it and XP. Some people dont like it and some like it better, I think it just depends on what you get used to. - cdabexx
I bought a Windows Vista a couple months ago. Nothing is really different about it, except that it's much faster than other computers. Especially when your old computer was a Windows 98. - Daija P
I would recommend taking off the bundled AntiVirus...and put avast and spybot S&D on it.....then I would start tweaking the vista a bit...turn off the input device service...unless you have a touch screen or a stylus. There are a few other services you can turn off that of no use to the common pc user.....vista is fine it will run well since you have the resources to do so...the bugs have been fixed from the betas and the driver support is much better...but don't plan on using that sharp printer from 98...vista has a little different feel than xp but not much..once you use it and start to feel comfortable you will enjoy it. - uber.cronic
I just bought a Windows Vista, the only thing I see different, is that you have more pop ups when you first turn it on. - New Yorker
