Should I buy a Display model flat screen tv? - Jad It's a 42 inch Vizio LCD for $800.00. Which is the best price ive seen lately for one. I dont know how long its been on display.Also if anyone knows where I should look for a good flat screen at least 42 inches, for around 600 - 800 dollars that would be great, might be difficult though.

Best Answer: The average time frame for floor models is about 6-8 months before the store tries to sell them. They play for about 14-18 hours every day, make sure you keep that in mind. Usually they come with the same warranty (all Vizios 1-year parts 1-year labor) as long as it is an authorized reseller. The price tag seems about what it should be when you factor every thing in. I've bought a number of display models, and if you look at them and check that all the inputs work you should be just fine. If you're apprehensive, most stores will offer the replacement plan and you'll still be WAY under what a 42" LCD costs brand new. Check the resolution on it though. You shouldn't buy anything less then 1080P. Figure that you'll have that TV for a long time, and blu-rays are only going to be more affordable now that they've become the standard for the next generation of movies. You only get the full experince with 1080P, and there's no reason to kick yourself in 1 year and a half for buying a TV that can't handle it. - Christine
