Question and Answers

Tracy P Can anyone help with emachine T6212 hard drive compatibility? - Tracy P My hard drive crashed and I want to replace it. It is an emachine T6212 160 GB HDD, 7200 rpm, 2MB Cache Hard drive. Does it have to be replaced with an authentic emachine part or can I use another reputable hard drive with the same specs? Thanks!
Best Answer: It can be replace by any good drive, just make sure you check if it is sata or ide first ! It's probably sata, to check have a look at the data cable, if it is a ribbon type cable with 40/80 wires, it is ide, if it is a small thicker cable with about 7 connectors on each end it is sata. - Browni
your computer should work with ANY HDD so long as it is the same fitting, either IDE or SATA. - Jon M
