yes it worth the price but it is questionable to whether the video game system is worth thee price... alone it is a cery cheao blu ray player but the actualy system is not the best. the bandwith of the game supports memory and not quality and the exclusives are not great... like the ones stated by another answerer such as:Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Brave Arms Section 8 Chain Limit honestly i have never heard of those games and dont plan on getting them... i would much rather keep my 360 than buy a ps3... and no xbox is not making another sytem because microsoft sold more 360's in the forst years than ps3 has so far which means they are making more money... the only thinkg that you have to complain about the 360 is red ring which is fixable in your house if you go on youtube and find out how... - banana phone
yes. at 399.99 its only 50.00 more expensive than the pro 360, and has more features. and get this: the 80 gig bundle in june you'll get metal gear solid 4(59.99) the dual shock 3 controller(54.99) and a voucher for PAIN(9.99) from the PS store. all of this plus the system for 499.99. when just the 80 gig itself cost 499.99. get one, you shant be dissapointed. - eaglekeeper_98
pros does not break like 360 gets blu ray player and hi def awesome games free online and u can search the web.......... and guess wat .........I submitted this on my ps3! cons got to quit game to check messages see what friends r online....etc and thats all I could find on my ps3 rit now. get one! worth the money! DO NOT GET A XBOX 360! they break easy (all my friend's broke so I got a ps3) and by 2009 when xbox 720 comes out ur gona be paying about $700..... ps3 is the best! - Chito307
as of the moment... ps3 is a little shaky. it failed to deliver some good exclusive games and the online experience wasn't that good. the graphics of the previously released games are not that as impressive as what the sony people have shown in recent game conferences. the good side is... ps3 still has plenty of rooms left in it to develop. they are now starting to work on the online experience of the console and some pretty good exclusive games are now coming this year not to mention the playstaion home. they say that the graphics of its current games are not yet on it's best... maybe 60-70% so the other 30-40% remains to be developed until we can clearly see the real power of ps3. in terms of design, ps3 is the clear winner... it also has a blu-ray which the other consoles do not have. in my opinion and this is unbiased.... the price of the ps3 is justifiable considering its capacities in the future. but if i will be the one to choose. i won't buy a ps3 right now. i'lll save my money and when the price goes down a little bit and when i see that the games they will release look impressive... then that's the time i will buy it. that's only my opinion. if you have the money then go for it. i won't mention other consoles here because that will be unfair on the side of ps3. in the first place you just asked if the ps3 is worth the price. so there you go. hope i answered your question. i'm glad i could help. - XN0obi3X
I have a ps3. Its great. But very similar to the 360. The bluray is great and games are amazing in hi-def. But, I have two problems. One is not that major, but a 360 looks better on a standard def tv than the ps3. The other is major. Very major. One day i turned on my ps3. I popped in GTA IV and waited for it to load. It never did. In fact, no discs loaded. Ever again. I had to send it to Sony to get it fixed and since I was out of warranty, I had to pay $160. I'm currently waiting for it to get sent back. Overall, aside from this, I much rather have my ps3 than one of my friends 360's. It's just to cool. =) - Vinny D
Yes. Pros Metal Gear Solid 4 God of War 3 Haze Killzone 2 Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Brave Arms Section 8 Chain Limit Call of Duty 4 GTA 4 Cons Home isn't out yet. - Star-Scream
pros: great for playing dvds, automatic free firmware updates, free PSnetwork, no hardware problems (ahem, red ring of death is STILL an ongoing prob) bluray + firmware updates for that too, dvd player=upconverter, great graphics (they will get better when developers get a grasp of the technology), a few of the exclusive ps3 releases are pretty sweet, and i personally like the fact that theres no disc tray. cons: no split screen multiplayer games (as of yet) -price may be a bit steep, but you're really getting a big BANG for your buck. its worth it even if you dont play games on it. i dont play games on it, i use it as a movie player (bluray, dvd, usb) it supports many populat movie formats. and now supports trueHD sound. - rovi*
