michael v sony dcr dvd 108? - michael v I Was Wondering If My Camcorder The Sony DCR - DVD 108 Has VCR Playback Mode Av -DV Out, Video out Or S/AV Input
Best Answer: All camcorders have AV-out... you need the cables that came in the box or you need to get new ones if those are lost. Download your camcorder's Operating Instructions here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=DCRDVD108 Read it. Your camcorder does not do any AV-in. See page 21. This is what came in the box. It looks like you copied "VCR Playback Mode Av -DV Out, Video out Or S/AV Input". What are you trying to do? If you are trying to connect your camcorder to your computer so you can transfer the video for editing, you won't have any computer connections that will work very well. There are two ways that would be easiest: 1) If your computer has a drawer loading DVD drive, download and install HandBrake http://handbrake.fr/ Take the DVD out of the camcorder and put it in the drawer loading DVD drive in the computer. Launch HandBrake. You will need to save the files ripped from the DVD to something your video editor can use. .avi or dv for MovieMaker; .mov or MP4 or DV for iMovieHD. Once the files are converted, you can import to your video editor. If your computer has a slot loading DVD drive - or the optical drive does only CDs... or there is not optical drive, then you need to use a, analog/digital bridge like http://desktop.thomsongrassvalley.com/products/videoconversion.php or http://pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Dazzle/Family.htm The camcorder connects to the A/D bridge; the bridge connects to your computer. - Nu'uanu
