If so... a miniDV vcam must be iLink / FIREWIRE400**-connected to pc to upload video thru video capture or video editing* software while vcam is ON PLAYBACK. Note: DV or Firewire port of vcam is 4pin. And just in case there's any doubt, no, there isn't an adapter - they don't work!! You'll need to install a firewire card. They're cheap, easy to install and readily available. - iridflare

Yes, there is an adapter for your computer's USB drive. Most old computers don't have DV ports, that may be your problem. - Shawn Griffin
